Lavish Life in Los Angeles Ends in Arrest: Relatives of Iran’s Qasem Soleimani Detained by ICE

Los Angeles — U.S. immigration authorities have arrested the niece and grandniece of Qasem Soleimani, the Iranian military commander killed in a 2020 U.S. drone strike, in a case that has drawn widespread attention.

According to officials, the two women were taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after their legal residency status was revoked. Authorities allege they were involved in promoting pro-Iranian government narratives while living in the United States.

The arrests come amid claims that the pair maintained an affluent lifestyle in Los Angeles, frequently sharing images of luxury travel and social events on social media. Officials argue that their online activity included content perceived as supportive of groups hostile to U.S. interests.

The U.S. government has stated that individuals who support adversarial regimes while residing in the country may face strict legal consequences, including deportation.

The two are currently in ICE custody and are expected to face immigration proceedings that could result in their removal from the United States.
